All caught up

Recently I've been trying to expand my daily duties and get more creative every day. One part of that was writing at least 500 words every day. I was doing well initially then I started splitting my writing between multiple stories. While I was still writing 500 words every day, I was not posting a story every day.
If you write 100 words on each of 5 stories you're still doing 500 words a day at least, but unable publish that tiny bit on each for people to read. As of today I'm back up to date with all my stories. There will always be a new one (or part of one) out every day so be sure to go there often and read. I really do like feedback :)
Now it's time to get over to Ape Wind and finish up 2 articles sitting in the queue.

Margarita Mondays

It's been a while since I've had the joy of the fun tradition known as Margarita Mondays, but that has now been rectified and will be a regular staple back in my life. So if anyone feels up to some lime flavored fun just let me know. Or you could always just create your own Monday night of fun at a Mexican restaurant of your choice.

Enjoy!

A Weekend Away

My roommate asked me, "Would you like to go camping?" I thought about it, and although I was planning on going last year life got complicated and I never got a chance to get out, so I said yes!
We started by taking it very easy and having a morning cup of coffee in the house. I knew this was going to be a fun laid back time. We drove down to the Hocking Hills and searched for a campsite. Camping isn't cheap anymore! $25 for a primitive campsite, in other words nothing but the essentials: a fire pit, a picnic table, a spot to set up your tent, and one of the most amazing views one could ask for.
Once we picked out campsite we set up the tent and went off for supplies.
It was a quaint two-man tent and it set up surprisingly fast. It's been so long since I have camped I didn't even realize I picked up the packed-up tent to put in the car, it was so flipping light. We were going to go on a hike after we hit the store for some beer and food, but nature had other plans for us. It rained, and rained hard. We sat in the back of the car and watched as rain pelted everything.
The worst part? All the wood around was now soaked. We tried for hours to get the campfire rolling, but ended up only getting the kindling going in spurts and finally gave up. There was no more rain that night and the moon was absolutely amazing though as a half waxing beauty.
Sleep could have been better, but it seems weekend nighttime is when the crass youth of the area takes to boats on Lake Logan. We were kept awake well into the night by random shouts and hollering.
The next morning we struck the camp and got off to Cantwell Cliffs. One of the best parts to hike in the Hocking Hills. Most people hit the touristy parts like Old Man's Cave.
At some point, we found ourselves way off the path and enjoying the strange sights the forrest had to offer.

Even some random lichen to look at.
And just astonishing views.
We even made a new friend.
Overall it was a wonderful time, and we plan to go back soon and hit up some canoeing.

Star Trek

Went with friends and saw new Star Trek last night. I have complete faith that J.J. will do a fine job with Star Wars.

My impressions of the film were simple. It's an alternative universe to the old Star Trek, so anything goes. I totally called who I thought the villain would be, and it didn't matter, it's all about the story. Action films of this much movement suck in 3D. Seriously, I'm tired of everything in 3D, It's cool sometimes, but every now and again I just want to enjoy a story and not feel a little ill at all the blurry movement I have to track. Enough ragging on that though.

So overall, great flick, would suggest everybody give it a chance and enjoy.

A Start

Short and sweet.

Why do I write? Because I have to. I have an unending need to lay my thoughts and words on 'paper' for any and all to see. I'm not terribly good, but I'll get better. I feel it's much like music. Speaking of... Why do I play music? Because I have to. My life feels like it would be empty if I didn't. I think it really all boils down to one simple thing. I'm an artist and I must create.

Well how's that for a first post?

Not terribly amazing or insightful. Just the simple ramblings of a person trying to connect with and enjoy the world as best they can.

Here's a drink to get started.
